“Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave”
~ from the song “Brave” by Sarah Bareilles

My last post here was from 2018 which is over six years ago. I started this blog to help me in my healing journey and thought it might help someone else as well. I stopped writing because life was getting a bit crazy, and I thought that what I wrote didn’t matter. Since then, I’ve learned that finding my voice is more important than I had thought. Sharing thoughts and ideas is extremely important. I have found that not only does it help us heal, but it can often help others realize that they aren’t alone in their journey.

Putting ourselves out there can be scary, especially when we’ve been told by people close to us that our thoughts and opinions are stupid and don’t matter. Well, screw that! It may have taken me umpteen years to learn this, but it’s better late than never. I’ve learned that when some people try to squash your voice and your light, it says more about them than anything. From what I’ve seen and experienced so far, people like this may find it easier to project their internal struggles outward onto others than to face their own inner turmoil. We may not realize it at the time because damn… it hurts hearing these things from those we care about. We can’t let it stop us. It’s time to find our voice and to let our voices be heard. It’s time to be brave.
