As written by my 12 year old daughter who asked me to share this on my blog.
Atop a house stood a black cat.
In the mighty sky flew black bats.
Sunflower orbs stare back at the moon
Stealthy as a raccoon lays the moon.
Fur black as a starless night
Echoing the soulless flight.
Whispering secrets in the dark
To the branch holding the lark.
Fur cool and smooth as a rock
Lays a mighty dock.
A mighty beast elsewhere lays
Counting past lazy days.
A shadow cast upon the moon
A silhouette on a broom.
Jack O’Lanterns lighting the path
Casting shadows with their wrath.
Mockery filled the air
Like a triple dog dare.
Ghosts and goblins lurk in the town
Like dark and mysterious clowns.
Children laughing and cackling
Like s’mores on flames crackling.
Skeleton’s dancing with chattering teeth
Clothed in shattering sheaths.
Candles whisper secrets untold
From eons of old.
